Ricardo De La Riva - Ultimate Streetfighter Instructional DVDs Fifth degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Ricardo de la Riva Goded, voted one of the five top Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu players in the world by Gracie Magazine, is the world famous creator of the De La Riva Guard. Ricardo received his black belt from Carlson Gracie and achieved notoriety by having beaten Royce Gracie in a BJJ tournament as well as Royler Gracie and Rolker Gracie. Ricardo began his training in early 1980 at the age 15 years old and received his black belt in 1986 making his name through his classic, offensive fighting style. Ricardo De La Riva stopped competing in 1993 in order to dedicate himself full time to the teaching and aiding in the development of his pupils and other great champions such as Rodrigo Minotauro Nogeira, Rogerio Minotouro Nogeira and Marcelo Grosso. He continues to travel around the world giving seminars and sharing his amazing brazilian jiu-jitsu techniques.
